Training in Japan

Anton Vandev sensei (5th Dan) and two students (Viktor Batchivalov and Samuil Vandev) from IJKA Bulgaria have completed their one-month training in Japan.  Anton sensei's words tell the whole story of what happened during the month.  Here is his message below.

Japan - a dream come true!

Our one-month stay in the land of the rising sun under IJKA JAPAN's instructor training program has changed our lives and our perception of the world. During that time, we have gained great experience as if we had lived for years in this amazing country.

Centuries old Japanese culture, woven intricately into every sphere of life, stand as a testament to the nation's enduring heritage and adaptability. The ancient past of Japan has carried the country into unattainable for the rest of the world future.

I am convinced that there is no person who has visited the country and remained indifferent to its uniqueness. The cordial attitude of the Japanese people and their detailed helpful approach to the world around them paying close attention to all of the small particulars is astonishing and leaves a great impression on every foreigner.

It was a real pleasure for us to train under the guidance of Utsumi Takato Sensei, who built a system of teaching without analogue in the field of martial arts. An approach that I believe will give the lead to IJKA in the development of karate. It was a real pleasure to train and participate in the training process together with the IJKA JAPAN instructors who put their whole heart into their work and are so dedicated in their quest to pass on the love and pursuit of improvement to their students.

We are happy to be a part of the IJKA family! We are deeply grateful for the opportunity given to us by Takato Sensei to participate in the training of this program and look forward with optimism to the future development of the organization worldwide.

It is difficult to describe something that one can only understand by going through it. And I sincerely wish that every karateka will have the opportunity to experience everything that we have gone through. And as for me, a piece of my heart has remained in Japan and will always draw me back there....... This is IJKA!!! Oss!

IJKA UK seminar

On October 7th and 8th, UK seminar was held in the UK. Thank you very much for the IJKA country chief instructors and members to attend this seminar. The IJKA UK have a strong lineage as high as 7th Dan and some individuals have been loyal followers of Kato Shihan and IJKA for up to 54 years so they have a wealth of experience to draw from. Such loyalty is rarely seen and difficult to find, even in other karate organizations, so IJKA UK is in a unique and proud position. This seminar was held as a memorial for Ron Bell Wood sensei (passed away in December 2022), who was a great contributor to the development of IJKA. We’ll keep great relationship with them for the bright future of IJKA international.
